Be immersed in the sights, sounds and tastes of Queensland.

Sensory Audio Guides

Tourism organisations and information provides rely heavily on imagery to promote destinations, leaving blind and low vision tourists with little information to plan and book their dream holiday. A group of 30 Queensland Accredited Visitor Information Centres (AVICs) have banded together to overcome this barrier and work towards a more inclusive tourism industry for all.

The below AVIC audio guides provide sensory experiences through storytelling, soundscapes and history clips, enabling travellers to make informed and independent decisions about where to travel while enhancing their on-site experience.

Welcome to your audio guide to Queensland through the eyes of local experts in AVICs.

Access each AVIC’s audio guide via the listen button. You can also access these guides on each AVIC’s profiles within the Australian Visitor Centres App.

We would like to acknowledge the Queensland Government for funding support with this project and our partners at Vacayit for making these guides possible.
